Matlab Developer (Neuronal cell signal analysis)

The NeuroGroup is seeking a candidate for MSc thesis work or project researcher for the project related to neuronal cell signal analysis. Successful candidate has:

  • Background in suitable field (signal processing, computer science, bio sciences), MSc degree or MSc studies almost finalized
  • Solid experience in Matlab programming
  • Earlier experience in biological signal analysis
  • Enthusiastic and hardworking spirit
  • Good spoken and written English

In addition we appreciate:

  • Experience in microelectrode array technology
  • Experience in version control (e. g. Github)

In this project the candidate will implement and develop algorithms for neural cell spike detection from microelectrode array data from neuronal cell cultures. In addition, development of algorithm usability and error control are part of the project.

The University of Tampere Prostate Cancer Research Center (PCRC) is seeking a creative, capable software engineer to join the ILSR (Integrated Life Science Research) and Geoprostate system development team. We hope that you have:

  • excellent software development capability using a current language such as Java, C++, C#, or others
  • previous experience in object-oriented programming

Postdoctoral Researcher (Robotic Material Testing at Micro and Nano Scales)

The Micro and Nanosystems Research Group is currently searching for a postdoctoral researcher who in addition to actively performing research on autonomous microrobotics by him/herself, has capabilities to take the responsibility on further developing and coordinating the research activities in the field. All candidates considered for postdoctoral researcher position are expected to hold a doctoral degree on robotics, microsystems, mechatronics or other comparable fields.
