The Institute of Biomedical Technology (IBT) is one of the nine schools of the University of Tampere. IBT conducts high standard research in the field of biomedicine and biotechnology and consists of nineteen research groups, the joint Biotechnology Program with the Tampere University of Technology and joint Master’s Degree program in Bioinformatics with the University of Turku. Research activities of the Institute cover bioinformatics, biotechnology, cancer, molecular biology, mitochondrial disease and ageing, immunology and cell and tissue technology.
The post of Professor of Medical Technology and Biotechnology will be filled initially for 5 years. The successful candidate is expected to strengthen the research environment, develop strong externally funded research program and to have the ability to provide high-quality teaching in the field of bioinformatics and biocomputing.
